My neighbors think I am naked. Am I by standards?I just want to know because they tell everyone I am naked and really it's my buiness. But they've ruined my rep with everyone around!

Buy PJ's that have 'MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS' written on the front and back.
hahaha they're freaks,
but i guess i can see how they might think it's weird if their neighbor is just walking around naked.
ask them, why are you telling everyone this and try to explain yourself, or if youre not suppose to know come out of your house in the pj so they can see you are wearing something
I don't get it. If you're not nude, why people are persistent of saying you're nude? I think they are just pervert, and kind of maniacs. Perhaps their fantasies are too strong and can't tell which one is true - that they always see you naked in their eyes though you're not.
Yeah, that's pretty bizarre. It IS only your business, and unless you're wearing a nude-colored bodysuit or something, I don't even know where they're getting the idea from that you're walking around your house naked...
Thats so weird, of course youre not naked. Why is your neighbor spying on you in the first place?!

And seriously, if you do walk around your house naked, then so what! They need to shut their mouths.
you're only naked if you're naked
I'd be disgusted by your neighbors...why are they lookin so hard then talkin about it, it sounds like you got perv peeping toms on your street. If anyone bother's you...file a report on them for peeping tom
I think it's fine. It's around you house, so who cares
there mean arn't they liolpunightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-20441052810064536882009-04-09T10:11:00.000-07:002009-04-09T10:08:21.553-07:00How can i remove dry rotted elastic from nylon nightgowns? Why are you keeping a nylon nightgown with rotten elastic? If the elastic is sewn to the gown, it will be time consuming and probably not worth the work. You will have to remove the elastic from the nylon with a seam ripper and stretch stitch new elastic onto nylon. If the elastic is enclosed in a casing, just make a small opening, cut the elastic and pull it out.

Thanks for the 10 points! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=1006042124251&kid=NbUvWjq4VjgrtRGyyScF&s=comm&date=2006-07-08+22%3A19%3A33&.crumb=punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-87175176508000602912009-04-08T10:13:00.000-07:002009-04-08T10:09:43.892-07:00Need help finding hanky panky cotton interlock nightgowns/nightshirts?I am having a hard time finding these on line! Women always wear sexy, silk gowns to bed on TV shows or in the movies. I have yet to meet a woman that will do that on a regular basis. Maybe for a special occassion, but not every night.

No, those things are not all that comfy actually. Guess they're not supposed to be. I always wear a t-shirt and panties, even on "special occasions". I've haven't had any complaints yet, so I'm sticking to it.
Every time I try to wear one, it ends up on the floor.......I give up! So now, if I want to wear my Victoria Secret silk gown, I wear it for dinner so at least he has to finishing eating first!!! (this would be an at home candlelit dinner for just the two of us. :)
A lot of women do, but the largest majority does not. I wear a Tshirt, But keep shorts beside my bed in case I have to leave the house in an emergency, like a fire, or threat of violent weather.
Sometimes, yes, but not every night unless she has an obsession with that type of lingerie. Tv shows and movies do not reflect real life, even if they purport to do so.
Not really more like a t-shirt and panties. (lol) Or shorts and a shirt. IDK. Something silky for sex! (lol) no occasionally.
Yes, some actually do.
Yeah not really, I mean some women might for sure, but I don't know anyone who does unless it's special occassion.
I do occasionaly but usually i just sleep in a t shirt. there could be some who wear that every night but not everyone.
Lingerie is expensive. If someone would buy it for me, I would wear it 24-7.
sex sells...so i'm sure it's pretty much just shows/movies.punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-30572236910551425232009-04-04T10:13:00.000-07:002009-04-04T10:10:33.247-07:00Why do women as they age from teenagers stop wearing nightgowns?Do you have a reason you do not wear them? or a reason you still do? Why as you get older you tend to start wearing them (granny gowns, lol)

i still wearing them.. it's comfortable.. wear loose will help me sleep well..
Huh? You phrased that weird.

I think older women wear nightgowns more because it is what their generation has pretty much always worn. My mom is 56 and wore mostly nightgowns up until like about 5 years ago when I bought her a set of PJ pants and a matching tank top. Now all of her pajamas are pant-shirt sets because they're just more comfy.

You try putting on a dress, then sliding into bed. You'll wind up with it bunched up around your middle. Not so comfortable.
I don't wear anything to bed
young girls are proud of there body's.. because there skinny with a nice body. the sexy nigh things young women wear are sexy .when women become older there body's are not as attractive. or they feel less attractive.. and they also want comfort when they sleep
Ew, never for me.

I will always sleep in my panties.

=]
I don't know any teenagers who wear nightgowns. How did you gain this information? *raised eyebrow*
I enjoy wearing nightgowns/slips because I hate the feeling of stuff on my legs trapping them. I move a lot and get tangled in pants. (it's a gift and a curse really. hee hee)

Well when's the last time you saw a nightgown designed and made for a teenage girl/young woman? Can't wear it if no one makes it.

I think most women wear PJs because it's just easier with them because you can be comfortable in them just lounging in the house.
I'm a young woman, probably much younger than you silly. When its cold I wear what you define as 'granny gowns' because they are warm and comfortable.
and btw why do you start taking viagra at age 29, and why do you wear pajamas.
i find nightgowns uncomfortable.
I never worn a night gown aka a **MOO MOO****. I sleep in a t-shirt and pajama bottems. LOL.

Kay Kay
maybe for the same reason old geasers wear their white boxer shorts and shrunken muscle undershirts that are so short, their huge hairy beer bellies slide right on out...
ITS comfort.. pure comfort!....
Clothes have to change as you grow. It's not appropriate when a 60 yr old wears short skirts because it doesn't look right.

Anyway, I don't wear night gowns. I always wear regular pjs, just the tshirt and pants.
My mom wears nightgowns...not the like risque ones...but one...i'm guessing cus eventually we will have children and don't want them to see anything less than... us with our clothes on...
or we may not feel as sexy anymore...

i'm 20...and i wear night gowns... i don't think i'll stop. the sexiness of them may fade a little. But i like to go to bed feeling sexy...
I've never been a night-gowny sorta gal. I'm one of those HUGE t-shirts ones. I really like wearing my husband's shirts cuz they smell like him...^_^

But even before that...I had extra big shirts just for me!
i dont like nightgowns... they arent very comfortable and i just dont like sleeping in them... i think even when im older i will never sleep in them yuck...
it's an age old question
but really you have to look at it from both side
1)do they have any reason besides advertizing campains, mothers advice and tradition (fitting in with the crowd)

2)do they look better with it?
what are they doing?
trying to piss guys off or please them

or are women so wierd that they would do it for any wierd reason that has nothing to do with guys

chivalry i tell you
chivalry
I still wear nightgowns, they are more like cotton slips though. I hate wearing pants to bed, they get all bunched up around my knees by the time I wake up.
because they can. nightgowns are annoying. it comes with having privacy.
um, well, being a teen, i never wore a granny gown
never plan to
i dont cuz i like wearing boy boxers or sweats with a tank or a T.
i honestly would never think to wear a gown, they would bunch up
and also cuz i like to look cute when i go to bed.
my bf likes to come over and surprise me in the morning [=
Well not many people i no where them, I guess PJ's are just in : )
the reason i don't wear them is because i get twisted up in mine while i sleep...i tend to toss and turn sometimes, and i get tangled up in it. i hate night gowns. so now i just stick to my pj' bottom's and a t-shirt...and during the summer i usually wear a big t-shirt.
I wear pajama pants because they are more comfy and they keep my legs warm.
check it ?

http://www.in-brands.com/Simplified/ProductList.asp?SortID=658&SortPath=0,3,39,658,&Page=3
they hide your body as you get older & women usually dont like their bodies when theyre older? lol idk.
I have never worn them.If you mean the horrid wynette...type ones...or even...the long cotton one with flowers on an stuff...ewwhhh...no way.Plus I always end up strangeling myself in the night as the ride up around my neck when I wriggle about to get comfy.I always wear something light and comfortable in the summer, like a chemise, or other kinds of comfy cool stuff, Im not gonna say what...for the purpose of modesty. And in the winter....satin pjs are actually quite warm....I might wear them when Im like eighty or something and I have no one to impress.!!! (lol)punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-25753329626123336892009-04-03T10:13:00.000-07:002009-04-03T10:09:43.075-07:00Is it proper to wear skimpy nightgowns around your grown children?Definately not, I think it's totally inappropiate, but then I guess it just depends on the family. My ex-fiance's Mom used to walk around the house in her bra and panties in front of my him and his brother (who are 24 and 19) which I thought was really strange.

My Dad doesn't even sit around in his undies, he always wears a bathrobe or sweatpants

if you're talking a proper fitting cotton cami with a bit of lacy edging matched with loose fitted pj pants that's one thing... but a filmy, see through top with a thong or even boy shorts is way inappropriate.

keep it opaque
keep it all covered
keep it looser fitting
keep the material realistic... no clingy satin or silk.
anything purposely made to be sexy, NO. I think that would be more disturbing than if you were to walk arround the house naked. Skimpy is one thing, but Sexy is a no no.
All sleeping clothes, skimpy or not, should be covered up outside the bedroom, regardless of who might see them.
i don't see anything wrong with it. just don't wear any of your s&m gear around them, might freak them out a bit.

I would file that under the creepy category. Why would you want to?
No, it's not.punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-39571227796292155172009-04-02T10:13:00.000-07:002009-04-02T10:10:27.236-07:00Looking for a source of nightgowns with built-in bra/support?I am a large busted woman. In fact, they will probably require you to wear one almost your entire stay. I don't know how long you'll have a catheter in, but you will immediately after your surgery and I don't know how long they will leave it in....it depends on how you do. DO NOT WORRY about other people and the way you look. Worry about yourself, about getting better and taking care of yourself inside and out. Make sure that if you are in pain you are getting proper medication. Make sure that if you have a question that you ask the Dr's. Take care of yourself because there is going to be no one there but you to really love and take really good care of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I'll be calling you daily!!!!
Peace & Love :)
dont worry about it all, when you come out of theatre you will be in a hospital gown but as soon as you start recovering from treatment, they usually change you into a fresh clean pair of hospital pajamas within the next 18hours and after that they will then put you in your own nightwear. Good luck with you opperation
Depending on hospital policy but I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to wear you on gown or pajamas. Also why are you going to be there a week? Most hysterectomies are overnight stays at the most unless they have to open you up. I was out in 3 days with a hgb of 6.2 and back at work in 5 weeks.
theirs dont worry their coffy bring shorts to put on under neath if you feel uncovertabel theirs you have to wear so they can exsamine the body after surgry dont worry though their not their to jude you body in any means their their to help you and you get warm blackes in the oven things so your nice and warm
At first you will use the hospital gown because of the way they are made it is easier for the doctors and nurses to treat you. It also depends on what kind of surgery you are having.
i think you can wear a nightgown as long as it does not interfere with the area where you are getting surgery on god luck hope you get better.punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-56403760700564317692009-03-31T10:11:00.000-07:002009-03-31T10:08:41.895-07:00Do any women actually wear silk nightgowns? In the movies or on television, it seems the wife or girlfriend is always wearing a cute, silky nightgown to bed. Most women I know only wear a nightie to bed if they are trying to impress their man. Any ladies wear a nightie every night?

I don't always wear a cute nightie but i do a lot and when i am not i still wear cute pj's. It makes me feel cute when i wake up and it seems i start my day off better when i feel better about myself.
not every nite, but often..love the way it feels on my skin.
Honestly there is nothing hotter than a gf/spouse in a plain old t-shirt... very sexy everytime...
no we like to be comfortable in bed like you guys but if we know the nights going to be "special" yes we usually have an outfit or two like that laying around to spice things up
i have a silk leopard print dressing gown and that's about it
I don't wear anything lately although I do have a lot to choose from; and if I did buy a nightgown, it wouldn't be made of silk because silkworms are boiled alive to obtain it.punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-12894555879941231252009-03-31T00:05:00.000-07:002009-03-31T00:02:35.154-07:00How can I get my wife to wear nightgowns instead of pajamas?I've gotten her several nighties from racy to rather plain but almost every night it's long pajama pants and t-top... which to me is a statement of "not tonight dear"... we've been married less than a year and lovemaking is down to about twice a week already (though those 2 times a week are good!)

We, like guys, want to be comfortable at night. Sometimes the lacy nighties are just too cold or skimpy to be comfortable. I know these days lots of girls like to wear only tee-shirts to bed. So talk to her about wearing these gowns on special nights, or date nights. Tell her how much you enjoy them and come to a compromise. A lot of times women don't understand how important little things are to a guy and you have to make that clear to her.
Talk to your wife. Since she's probably doing this for comfort you might want to go shopping together with her for a nightgown. She just might not like what you got her. It's also possible that she just doesn't like wearing or has little experience wearing any sort of lingerie. Maybe if she's cold put more blankets on since you picked a cold time of the year to give her flimsy sleepwear.

In the end I would just say take her shopping and have a good talk with her if it's that important for you. If you're concerned about the number of times you're making love make sure you discuss that with her. She might think that wearing racy nightwear will encourage sex when she just wants to get some sleep. If that's the can maybe make time for lovemaking an hour or so before going to bed.
Most of the time pajamas are a statement of not tonight but as long as she puts something slinky on and smell good for you on the nights you are togehter. Then, how much sex did you have before you got married, that could be another factor too, sometimes a woman doesn't want to just have sex to prove love. You can make love to her with words, just holding her and talking, making her a nice breakfast or volunteering to cook dinner for her. Start doing some things to make her fee sexy like buying her perfume, flowers, you know, some just because gifts. If none of that works then seek counseling to find out whats really on her mind.
Why don't you ask her- nicely- if she will wear them? Sometimes these kind of nightgowns look pretty...but they are rather uncomfortable! ( I tried to sleep on satin sheets once...because you see them in romantic movies, but it turned out I couldn't sleep because I felt cold ! )

Ultimately, it's her choice. You cannot make her wear something she dislikes or feels uncomfortable wearing.

Why don't you tell her that you get the "Not tonight, honey" message when she wears her pjs? Unless you talk to her, she has no way of knowing what is going through your mind!
You're reading too much into what she's wearing. It only means that that's what she's comfortable sleeping in. Maybe crank the heat and she'll go to bed without anything on. I say initiate something when she's in those pajamas or heck, initiate in the middle of the day to mix things up a bit!
I wear flannel (!) pj's, long pants and long sleeves, every night, because I'm really cold-natured. We have sex every day. Sometimes twice. The real question is, how can you get your wife enflamed, because it's not about the pajamas, dude.
she may actually be dressing for...*gasp* comfort!!
Tell her she's sexy in her Pj's and t-shirt...and go for it anyway! You don't have to wear something sexy to be sexy.... You don't have clothes on when you do the nasty anyways
Ask her to not get dressed for bed until after the sex has happened. Then she can wear whatever she wants. This will help you determine the reasons behind her choice of clothing.
steal the pajamas.
You're having this problem too?punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-70545052502456157162009-03-28T10:13:00.000-07:002009-03-28T10:09:51.316-07:00Did you robes and nightgowns get stained and spoiled?I know you are suppose to bring robes and nightgowns when you go the hospital to deliver your baby. Was the bleeding after the birth so bad that it ruined your robes and nightgowns?

No I didnt' bleed that bad. Besides you have to change everytime you go to the restroom and the first day of delivery you go to the bathroom alot. I read that you lose about 3 quarts of liquid after delivery.
No. They give you what I call "super pads" They are really big, they absorb all the blood and as long as you change them when they need to be changed then you'll be fine...Good Luck and I hope that helps. =)
Honey you don't sit around and fester in your own blood.
Yes. It is completely unnecessary too. Stick with the hospital issued gowns--unless you want to ruin your robe. Do remember to take some slippers.
Nope. I wore all my sweatsuits in the hospital and they were not soiled. Bring some of those extra long super overnight maxi pads with you to the hospital - they are the best.
I had an episiotomy and it was pretty bad, but they gave me lots of super-thick pads. I think I got stains on one pair of underwear, but that was all. Once you leave the hospital it should be okay to wear a normal pad, and it just keeps getting better and better. If you are worried just buy a cheap or second-hand robe and keep your nice robe home.
I only wore them after I was all cleaned and showered up and my bed changed. I used the hospital ones befor ethat.
good luck and congratulations!
nope
surprisingly only one of my night gowns got ruined... if you have any favorite underwear i wouldnt suggest wearing them as they are sure to get ruined... good luck
The hospital supplies you with really big pads after delivery....bleeding is a bit heavier than a bad period but not terrible (at least in my case) I wore sweat pants and a tshirt afterwards and no blood went thru onto my clothes...Good Luck!!!!
You will wear large sanitary napkins after delivery. They have stocks of them at the hospital for you to use. If you do get blood on anything (which I did not) just be sure to wash it in cold water and shout it out. (Warm water sets blood stains).
Its pretty much like having a period. They give you big pads to wear anyways.
I never brought all that stuff. I just wore the hospital gowns they gave me. They even have nursing hospital gowns that were very convenient.
So many people go out and buy lovely new nighties for the hospital stay, but it really isn't worth it.
I suggest taking in old 'comfies', things you just don't mind chucking in the bin when you get home and the worst is over!!
I wouldn't bother really. When I had my daughter I used the hospital gowns. They provided what I call "Wonder Pants" a mesh underwear to hold the jumbo pad in.

The only thing I plan on bringing the next time is clothes to go home in, slippers, toiletries (cause the hospital ones suck) and a book.
you may have a lot of bleeding, but as long as you keep your pad changed you wont have a problem.
I took a pair of old sweat pants with me and wore those and a robe and t shirt that was older and faily stretched out from being pregnant, but nothing got ruined.
the sweatpants did have a few minor stains - i soacked them in clorox 2 for 24 hours and then scrubbed a littl and washed and they are fine
I would only use the robe to walk around the hallways, but just use the gowns they provide at the hospital because they will get stained.
The only blood I got anywhere when giving birth was on the sheets and the second I was stitched up they changed the sheets so it didnt matter. I got a tiny smudge of blood on my shirt from when I held my baby for the first time, but it washed out.
Make sure you take plenty of maternity pads for afterwards because oh my god you need to change those things like every hour or so the bleeding is so heavy, and try to stick to darker coloured pyjamas while youre in hospital in case your pad leaks and you have to walk to the loo with a lovely big red spot on ya bum.
The other alternative is you dont need to give birth clothed, you can be naked if you feel more comfortable, or you can even ask for a hospital gown.
Feel free to contact me if you'd like to know more. Hope Ive helped :)punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-41147762854529121532009-03-27T10:12:00.000-07:002009-03-27T10:09:34.393-07:00What are some cute but popular pajamas or nightgowns for a teenage girl?I am 14 years old and just wanting to get some new nightgowns and or pajamas and wondering which ones most teenage girls wear?

pink by victorias secret!
they have lots of really comfy pj's and the colors are soooo cute!
you can mix and match a bunch of their stuff too!
Short pyjama bottoms and a tank top are in right now. something like this:

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat2010016&productId=prod3170268

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat520025&productId=4496_2833

Or just normal pyjama bottoms like this:

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat1550003&productId=0492_2807

Or if you want a nightie something like this:

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat520033&productId=7496_2750
http://www.aeropostale.com/family/index.jsp?pageDisplay=actfam%2Cfilter&pageType=family&int_nextBucket=0&totalProductsCount=21&stepThreeImg=%3Cfont+style%3Dfont-size%3A11px%3Bcolor%3A%235A5A5A%3Bfont-weight%3Abold%3B%3E3%3C%2Ffont%3E&canSortByPrice=true&stepTwoImg=%3Cfont+style%3Dfont-size%3A11px%3Bcolor%3A%235A5A5A%3Bfont-weight%3Abold%3B%3E%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3BSort+by%3A%26nbsp%3B%3C%2Ffont%3E&page_bucket=0&clickid=cat_leftnav_txt&showBrandFilter=false&cp=2284058&hasBrandFilter=false&pageCount=2&pageNum=1&int_prevBucket=-1&PAGES_PER_BUCKET=10&fDomain=Aeropostale&fCat=1988345&num_buckets=1&showSbsInstructions=false&multiRowFilter=false&showSizeSearch=true&hasPagination=false&categoryId=1988345&qs2=categoryId%3D1988345%26cp%3D2284058%26clickid%3Dcat_leftnav_txt&count=21&view=all
abercrombie areopostle
lol, i wear my happy bunny pajamas!
shorts from aerie and a tank toppunightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-37744952666098037702009-03-26T10:13:00.000-07:002009-03-26T10:09:50.791-07:00One of my cats is chewing on my nightgowns and pjs. Would it be impossible to get started without a degree, even if I had the skills and creativity needed?

Take up short courses if formal degree is not viable (perhaps of the budget).

You can have a career in fashion. You start designing regularly, produce at minimal. Then start to sell it to the streets and Ebay.

You can open up your own boutique after. Or have a designer hire you as an apprentice.punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-32517272448796025622009-03-22T18:28:00.000-07:002009-03-22T18:24:59.355-07:00What to wear to an interview with a fashion blog/website?Okay so I have an interview to be an ambassador for a style website/blog. It's basically a website where the editors and employees post new trends, fashion advice, upcoming events etc. Anyway, they're hiring a couple people to promote it at events. It's only a job for a couple weeks but it's a very popular website where I live. Anyway, what should I wear for the interview? The interview is held at a coffee shop because, apparently, they are between offices at the moment.

Decide on one piece of trendy clothing or accessory as the focal point eg. an off-shoulder top or a long silver loop necklace. Keep the rest of your overall attire simple. Wear clean, matching heels. Shoes are impt. If you need to bring a bag, try to bring a unique so that you have something special for icre-breaking with the stylish crowd. Keep your makeup fresh and light, it should never be OTT.
Since you are so interested in fashion, I'm guessing your closet is stocked full of trendy clothing. Just pick something you're comfortable in and make sure it's not too flashy (since you'll be in a coffee shop). If you have trouble picking something out, I suggest an Asian-inspired outfit (such as a kimono-style top and pleated knee length skirt) because those never seem to go out of fashion.

Also, when accessorizing, be sure to keep it simple. Don't overload yourself with jewelry or hair accessories, because they might snag or otherwise distract you.

Good luck! :)
Hi, maybe i can help you. Pls visit my site at http://www.chicstore.blogspot.com Just add your name and e-mail. And i will answer your problem about fashion (in private). See you soon :)
Well a good idea is to check out a website that has all of the latest fashion trends such as http://www.ramptostore.com.punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-48768374475816218632009-03-21T01:03:00.000-07:002009-03-21T01:00:45.772-07:00How to become a really good and succesful fashion designer?I think I have the talent to become one, but I don't know how to get started. I am the best dressed one in my family and everyone comments on how fashion-forward I am. I know how to make you look thin, give you more presence, make you look, well, ANYTHING you want. How can I do it? Does it cost anything to get all the fabric, paper, and pencils approximatly?

It becomes costly. Really costly.
But to start off, you can start on eBay and start selling your
designs to happy customers.
You can start a mini-website, you can go to fashion colleges,
just try to get noticed.

Good luck!
Maybe I'll be wearing your designs one day.
[:
practice sketching ouffits, take sewing lessons, once u learn how to sew buy fabrics and start making ouffits
Well, I'm also an ispiring designer, What I do for materials is to go through my wardrobe and if I don't like something anymore or if doesn't fit, I'll use that. I don't sell my stuff at first, I wear them, see how many complaments you get, if people like your stuff, try making items for them, if they wear them your getting free publicity. Then once you know people love your designs, you could try showing them to certin boutiuqes, sell them on ebay ect. Good Luck!punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-79129973322391635522009-03-19T21:16:00.000-07:002009-03-19T21:13:27.666-07:00How should I start a portfolio for a Fashion Design college?Im a sophmore in highschool, I was origanally going to be an artist, but once I hit middle school I got fashion fever. I sew well, and I consider myself origanal.

What are the steps I need to take to plan a portfolio? How many designs should I have ready to show? How many design boards should I have? Should I make an actual outfit/dress to bring in and show, or wear?

Thanks in advanced!

It varies by the school. This is coming from someone who actually majors in fashion design at one of the top 3 schools in the US for fashion Design and who applied to all 3 top schools in the US for fashion design..

The only top fashion design school that will want to see your fashion design work or sewing work will be Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. But even then they'll send you a home assignment and you can submit additional work for admissions. It is the cheapest Fashion school in the US, at a price tag of like $8000 for out of state students, and like 3K in state.

But in general schools like Parsons School of Design or Otis College of Art & Design(which are the other top 2 schools for fashion design in the US), will want to see a portfolio of your skills, which primarily will be of drawings of still life or life drawing. They don't want to see anything major specific(such as fashion) because you're applying to the Foundation year which is basically freshman year(not major specific)/ After your first year, you then declare your major and enter it. I personally thought I would dread foundation, but it really helps you decide and give you more time to think whether what you planned on majoring is really what you want. I know plenty of people who came to my school thinking they were going to do fashion but ended up realizing that they were just attracted to the idea of it, and ended up majoring in other fields.

I would just advice to take as many drawing classes(but not a must) or even a portfolio preparation class, and that's it. Don't take fashion classes or fashion illustration classes, because that's not what is required or asked for by these institutions.

If you're serious about a career in fashion design the ONLY places you should be considering applying or going to is either
Parsons http://www.parsons.edu
Otis http://www.otis.edu
FIT http://www.fitnyc.edu

Back ups who have strong fashion design programs but are not as great as the schools above are
Pratt Institute http://www.pratt.edu
Savannah College of Art & Design http://www.scad.edu
Rhode Island College of Art & Design http://www.risd.edu

BTW regardless of what people say, FIDM in Cali, is not a good school, it is also not related to FIT which is a good school.

Just check the admissions requirements of the schools listed above on their websites and you'll see what the portfolio requirements are. Savannah College of ARt & Design is the only school that doesn't require a portfolio. It's optional.

A community college that is strong in los angeles which also has a fashion program is Los Angeles Trade Tech at www.lattc.edu They are a really cheap option for someone on a budget, and still reputable.
I think you may want to get in touch with a college that has fashion design to better understand how you should start building your portfolio. They'll probably want to see sketches and pictures of live models wearing your clothing. By talking to a school you'll be able to get all the details so ask a lot of in depth questions to help you now. You could also go to collegeboard.com (type in fashion design) to get a better understanding of what fashion design really calls for. How would I go about this? What are some things that I can start doing now that would be of great help later? Any other advice would be wonderful. Thanks!

well this year i did a reaseach for a career paper for a fashion designer and the first thing u need is a portfolio of your best drawings like btwn 10 and 20...than you look at schools and they chekk out ur portfolio and they see if ur drawings are what they are looking for and voilla!!!!!
London College Of Fashion, it specialises in many courses one of such which would appeal to you and the career path you are interested in. The link to the website is below:

http://www.fashion.arts.ac.uk

As for the portfolio, i suggest you get myspace and put photos of your work up. This was what my friend did and loads of people contacted her with job offers and work.
Good luck!punightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058874168703098611.post-73878547616211306872009-03-16T22:20:00.000-07:002009-03-16T22:17:49.659-07:00I need help from someone who majors in fashion in college. What books are you reading?I am 14 and I study fashion already in highschool, but I am wondering what college students studying fashion are reading.

If you are in college for fashion, could you please recommend any books, or sites that will help me?

I want something advanced. It doesn't have to be high fashion, but I want to be able to have read something like that by the time I am in college.

confessions of a shopaholic lolpunightgownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08286752660366081927noreply@blogger.com0
